Today's Cigar

Drudging up an old post

I use Humidity beads to keep my humidor that I smoke out of at 65%. I find even as low as 50% Produces a nice smoke but does nothing for aging.
Many B%M’s keep their humidors at 50% as they smoke well at this range and B&M’s are in the business of moving inventory quickly not aging. Those with LARGE selections tend to keep it higher as they do not move as fast and slightly aged cigars are better than not. Still most B&M’s keep their humidors below 70% My aging humidor/s I try to keep at 70%.
I like a loose to medium not very loose but I don’t like to make a Pucker/fish face trying to draw. So this is why I keep my humi at a lower range as the tobacco swells as we all know with high humidity.
Other than that I’ve gone the tuperidor/cooleridor route before and Due to the heat in my apartment they are just too hot so all I have to say is a Cedar humi with beads and a calibrated digital hygrometer 2 to 3 times the size you think you will need or your first humidor which is usually a 100ct+ humi is your best bet even for a beginner as you wont believe how fast you will fill it the biggest problem most people have with their humidors is that they run out of space. So spend the money now or waste the money later after you buy many small humis and it becomes a hassle and a waste of money when you finally buy the one you should of in the beginning. Sorry for going off topic but I thought it would be nice for new smokers to know. Also save yourself some hassle and get a good lighter and a punch or cutter your preference when I was a newbie I used a punch because it is easier than learning to cut correctly but now I ONLY cut. Here are some sites that you can get everything you need for newbies. I am no way affiliated with any of these sites other than being a satisfied customer every time.

(this is the only humidor site I have purchased from. I wont recommend anything I haven’t tried and have been satisfied with but if you get a humidor somewhere else, I know there are more that possibly have great deals but this is the one I used. The only information I can give for purchasing a humidor online is to look for one that has “sure seal technology” as you cannot test them online although this site I posted accepts returns and I have not seen a quality 50ct humi anywhere else for $30.)

My 50 cents lol just trying to look out for the newbies and give back to the community that nurtured me.
