I have not had a San Cristobal by Ashton but I have herd nothing but good things. I am Super interested in it though as I am with any Nicaraguan puro and especially by Don Pepin Garcia. The man has the midas touch when it comes to cigar blending.

I think I will try these in the Guajiro Vitola first (Ihe most Cuban-esque Vitola, Corona sized with a pigtail) I know the Churchill got a 93 but I think this will be the best vitola in the line. Then if I like them I will Surely buy a box of Maestros (the perfecto but it is a 6×60…) to put away so I can enjoy my love of perfectos with a well aged cigar.

I personally am not a fan of Ashton I tend to think they are over priced and i am not particularly a fan of Dominican Tobacco (which they use in most of their blends)but thats just my opinion. Although I know they have high standards in production so I will let this opinion of mine slide this time. So you can at least count on a Good looking box. Wifie loves them. Pepin has yet to let me down and I bet hey was paid very well to make this cigar so I dont think he spent 2 years to blend a crappy cigar. Although I will find out as soon as I get some.

the san cristobal I had was a classico (robusto really)the size I almost always try first. I loved it.

I’m not totally surprised you aren’t an Ashton devotee, the classic line is getting mild for me now that I have been around a while, but I wouldn’t turn one down. But I am a little surprised you don’t like the Virgin Sun Growns. Yeah, Dominican (not a problem for me at all)but the wrapper is an Ecuador sun grown by the other Oliva family.

Hey I guess that’s why they make chocolate and vanilla.
