Try a fiver they have a Ligero wrapper which no other cigar has it. Also the only site that sells it it CI and you cant get a fiver there bro only the full 20. if you want a fiver you will have to brave Cbid if you don’t go for this. I say try it I think its good, Its not the best I ever had but its good. Chances are you will never try another cigar with a Ligero wrapper.
Note the wrapper is slightly dyed this is because the Ligero leaf 90% of the time have some blemish on it being on the plant the longest. So they decided to use dye this is not terrible and I would not let that affect your purchase as it is just to even out the wrapper color purely cosmetic.
Now if you have had an “It Super Fuerte Maduro” you have had the most died cigar I have ever seen. (I don’t even think it is maduro) its like smoking a warm chocolate bar you will have brown fingers and lips but with this Padilla it is not the case.
Believe it or not More and More companies are doing it now a days as it affects nothing but the look of the smoke and sometimes leaving a mark on your lips or fingers. Also believe it or not as far as I have seen RP makes the most died cigars mostly with the Indian tobac blends. Old world reserve is too.
So if you have had any of the ones I have mentioned, not to mention many more (I wont out any more company’s that dye their cigars but believe me when I say if you smoke maduro you have) and didn’t know know you do but the thing is you still probably liked it and that is the case with the Padilla obsidian the one thing to note is this cigar was made in 2008 even though its band says 2006, Now pull the trigger and put some money into 43s college fund OK. NOW!
Darned – missed this offering. I love ‘em. Yeah, they’re dyed wrapper. I’m mean no offense, but I don’t think they’re the only cigar to ever have a ligero wrapper, but I will say that it doesn’t really matter, as I like this blend greatly – that’s enough for me! Very rich in flavors, I say the body is only medium though (flavors are full, body/ mouth-feel is medium). Strong earthy backbone, a touch of straw and stereotypical ‘maduro-esque’ cocoa and coffee flavors. Finish is sweet with an odd bite (in a good way) of… pencil lead? Metal? Can’t place it. I like them well humidified (70% or more), but it has wrapper-crack issues that high. I also don’t pick up any ‘pre-light raisin’ that my friends tell me is there… oh well… Overall, very good smoke, fair price. One of my favorites, but then that list is a mile long… heheheh
Just my 2 cents worth,
